Lobster Festing

After driving up to Collingwood in the fog and darkness the weather held up for the rest of the weekend. The C. sisters and their Mom hosted a bunch of us for the Lobster Fest weekend. Prior to Festing, we poked around the Village... while a vintage car show rolled in...
Caught 18 holes of mini golf... which I enjoyed... haven't played mini golf since I was a kiddo.
Saw some camouflaged friends in the rough!
Then rolled our crew into the arena in Thornbury for some full-on seafood hilarity and serious gluttony!
Each of us gobbled 2 whole lobsters and piles of sides before dancing the night away in the arena.
Loved how everyone showed up with themed decor, costumes and desserts too! Think it was quite a huge social event in the area...

Good times! (Though I think we are all off lobster for some time at this point.)

I am so happy to see the warm weather arrive for real this week. Maybe we'll get a few rain-free days!

MoonRox at Teeny Weeny Bikini Co.

Now that the May long weekend has come and gone, cottage season is officially in effect. You can find MoonRox jewellery at seasonal store, Teeny Weeny Bikini Co. in Rosseau. They picked up a nice grouping to add to the store filled with owner and designer Ashley Eady's line of swimwear, hence the name of the store, some choice Canadian design and carefully selected vintage finds.
How cu-ute is this shop? A couple years ago, they expanded from a truly weeny version to the one that stands today. I enjoyed checking out the pics from years past.
What a fun place to poke around on a lazy Summer day... They are open as of last weekend until Thanksgiving on Saturdays and Sundays. As of July, they'll be open 7 days a week!

Colourful earrings

These earrings were made to match a cheerful colourful dress that will be worn by a very lovely lady to her sister's wedding this upcoming weekend. We chose to use a mixture of Swarovski crystals and blue agate beads hand-wired and clustered atop luminous citrine drops.

Lovely long weekend

They were calling for loads of rain, which seems to be the case almost every day lately, and it did rain, but for the most part the long weekend was lovely! I managed to get plenty done and see lots of friends, some of which I had not seen in too long.
I went for a couple long bike rides... got a little fresh air and exercise...
and admired the waterfront and skyline while escaping the city streets.
Found a good vantage point to experiment with my newly downloaded app, Photosynth. It's pretty cool... it patches a bunch of snapshots together to form a panoramic image in mere seconds. I think you can click on this image to see it bigger. (If you like.) Funny how green short guy appears several times and got lopped in half each time. Also, probably would have been a good idea to move my bike out of the photo, but anyhow... Now I have one more photo app to play with! My poor camera has been slightly neglected.
Today I caught some time on a sunny patio for a quick cocktail with A. before heading over to J. and T.'s for a delicious barbeque... I was lucky enough to enjoy a couple relaxing backyard get togethers this weekend! Very refreshing for a gal that lives in a high rise!
Love the foliage and flowers at this time of year. Everything seems to be popping up a bit late with the cooler temps, but I love when the leaves are this fresh, lush green. Every leaf looks perfect, with not a bite or a crease in it. Simple things please me...
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend too!

I should be sleeping and not late-night blogging! Until the morning...

This week I have been working on special pieces for a few different people! It's been fun to learn different techniques and try some new ideas.

It's Friday! Hope you enjoy the long weekend! May 2-4... does this mean Summer can official bestow itself upon us? Please?

Finding my wallet

Been on a wallet hunt for years... so have you, right S.P.? The wallet that J. Lo. gave me about 8 years ago has served me very well, but is on its last legs. Generally I prefer a smaller wallet, but more than a bifold or pouch, so it's a tough find... Here are some nice ones that I've come across. Most have been injected with the bit of fun too! The Proenza Schouler at the bottom is my fave of this list.
'Hue Pop Wallet' (love the combo!)

Hooray!

My Sis and W. got engaged a few weeks ago! We had a celebratory/Easter dinner.

Today is Sister's birthday! Wishing her a very happy one!

Mrs. Huizenga is re-stocked!

New MoonRox have arrived at Mrs. Huizenga in Roncesvalles Village! The shop is a treasure trove of all sorts of amazing vintage mixed with some work by local artisans. Loved checking out all the little vignettes set up in the store. How sweet are those floral serving trays under that cute sock monkey?

Spotted lots of creamy dreamy melamine wares,

clothing options galore,
and funny little do-dads and whachamacallits!
Here are just some of the new arrivals at Mrs. Huizenga! (A totally different selection than what you'll find at neighbouring shop Frock.) Lots of colour and vintage materials used in the making of these jewels!

In bloom!

Here is the 2011 edition of taking loads of pictures of the cherry blossoms in High Park. Took some of other blooms too. Oh so pretty! I love Spring!
KK's pooch, Archie, came along and seemed to really enjoy himself... Love the sunny days!

I can't seem to stop taking pics with Hipstamatic on my phone. Best buck 99 I have spent in years!

If you happen to be bored, here are my tonnes of photos from 2009 and 2010, though this year was much sunnier out!
